M4100-50G is working but cannot find IP address
We are cleaning up all of the equipment at the company I am working with currently and they have a working M4100-50G switch that you can connect and use like a switch should be used. The problem is that I cannot find the IP address (multiple scans, multiple ethernet cables, multiple ports tried) but it will not show up. I am afraid that if I put this into use, that the reason I cannot access the management might be a symptom of a bigger problem with the switch.
I have done the factory reset on the box but that did not help and trying to use a TEP to access it has been a huge frustration (but that could be because I am a novice when it comes to command line work).
Any suggestions? Any suggestions on a good step-by-step for going the command line direction to fix this issue? The other postings about similar issues were vague on instructions that I could follow or did not apply enough to what i needed to accomplish.

undoubted, a managed switch cli on a device with no known working and documented configuration has a longer learning curve ... not much magic the community can provide. Many possibilities where the device could hide the click-and-try a web ui for example.
begin with the learning adventure access to all support materials here https://www.netgear.com/support/ enter m4100-50g
Documentation does list
Documentation
Product Data Sheet
CLI Manual (Software Version 10.x)
Hardware Installation Guide
Installation Guide
Software Administration Manual (Software Version 10.x)
Software Setup Manual (Software Version 10.x)
User Manual
Start for example on the Installation Guide
No way around establishing a cli connection, either to the physical serial console, or in-band over ip
Useful could be for example
# show network
or
# clear config

You could try putty to facilitate the use of COM ports on Windows. https://www.putty.org/
