misplaced software, new computer
Purchased a new computer, but cannot find my netgear software. Will the firmware for my model be enough to connect, or do I really need the original software? If so, does netgear allow downloading the software?

It's not possible to give a definitive answer without knowing what you're asking about, but, Netgear generally has whatever software that may be required to use their devices available for download

NETGEAR software most of the time just contain a wizard that wil walk you through setting up the product. If you are using a router and/or a switch that is already working on the network, there is no need a software for your new computer as it just needs to be plugged in to one of the LAN ports.
Let us know the product you have and your network setup, I checked your records and just found WGR614v9.
