Netgear M4100-D12G -Setting up on my Home Network
I just acquired a used M4100-D12G 10.0.2.13 for my Home Network and am in need of some help to get it setup right. the price was right over getting another GS108T but it is a bit above me, for setup ...

Hi Rew452,
Welcome to the community! :)
Kindly refer to pages 21-22 of the M4100 reference manual here on how to configure Initial Settings on the M4100 switch. Make sure that you set a static IP address that is within the range of your local network.
Afterwards, refer to pages 58-59 of the M4100 reference manual on how to disable the DHCP function of the M4100 switch.

Thanks, But that is the problem; the manual shows an Initial Setup menu but it does not show it on the device.
How do I get to it?
This next image shows what I see on the System Management screen.
The second image is from the manual.

Hi Rew452,
This could be due to firmware revisions that the Initial Setup was removed. All I can say is this is a bit overkill for a home network, but this is workable. What you can do is to skip the Initial Setup part and go directly to changing the IP address, go to page 21 of the manual and configure the management VLAN settings, see below:

As you can see on the image, you can set the IP address of the switch to Static. Make sure that the IP address that you will use is the same range as your network's IP (including subnet mask, gateway should be the IP of your router/DHCP server). You can also choose if you still want the switch to do routing functions, otherwise you can disable it.
Once this is done, you will go to page 58 to configure DHCP server settings.
Hope it helps, let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks,

Hi John,
Merry Christmas! I was indeed surprised to get any reply today. I think something is not right with the loaded software/firmware. Yes, it is overkill but I needed more ports and it was cheaper than buying another GS108T; 12 ports versus 8.
Please don't feel pressured for a quick reply, it is the holidays -Thanks again!
I updated the software to the latest 10.0.2.13 and everything went according to the readme.
I am posting an image of the System Information page which shows all the software, firmware, serial number and boot info.
Can you review it and hopefully send me the proper or direct me to the correct firmware to update this switch, for the correct setup menu.
