Product Registration Proof of Purchase
We recently purchased a GS752TPV2 switch and registered it. It shows up in the "My Registered Products" list. We received an email that says:
"Please upload proof of purchase and a picture of your product showing the serial number from myNETGEAR.com portal for prompt support."
(a) Why do we need to upload proof of purchase and a picture? You already have the serial number.
(b) If this is mandatory, what kind of proof of purchase? A picture of what? The whole thing, or is the sticker in the back showing the serial number sufficient?
(c) If this is mandatory, where is this actually done? There's no link on the registered products page (https://my.netgear.com/products.aspx) to do this.
When your logged into your mynetgear. click on the device product info. then click on the +support documents (in blue).
It'll take you to a page to upload the receipt to.

Main reason is there's many "non-authorized" resellers of networking gear. So they might not have ever registered the serial number. so you can still register it but if you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you don't have the warranty.
that's the key reason.
I've seen it numerous times on there.
And it just makes it easier in the future if you upgrade your receipt right away so you don't have to go back and try to find it.
Thank you for the response. OK, I can understand that. We bought it from Amazon. We had to get a switch in a hurry because one of the ones in our office failed. I assume they're authorized.
However, as I noted in my original post, I still don't see where to do this in the page where it shows the registered products. There's no link or menu item or button that I can see where this information can be provided.

A proof of purchase, like a business invoice with the vendor name and address, including a date. The customer has to keep it and make it available for warranty or other support claims.

The request sent out by email for the proof of purchase is more than vague unfortunately. Somehow, I had expected this will be added along the recent platform downtime - however a field marked (+) Support Documents does indeed exist. Not the most user friendly implementation however.
