Request STP with Wireshark

Hi everybody !

 

I come to put in use my switch M4300 with the protocol STP, when I capture the trames with wireshark, there are a lot of trames STP and I would like to know if it's ok ?

    Yes, definitely. As long as the STP works, it will provide so much information if you do have redundancy in your connection.

      Hi JohnC_V,

       

      Sorry for the late and thank you for your help, I think that's good for my question with STP packets, when I analysed with wireshark during 6 mn, I had 616 STP packets/1004 packets.

       

      Each STP packets had a size 480 bits that is small with a time of 2s, however, I have 2 different destinations, the first is Spanning-Tree (for bridges) and the second is PVST+, this is normal ?
