trying to get 724T default management access back

    First - you cannot set your PC to the same address that the switch you're trying to connect to is at - the PC needs to be at a different address in the same network range as the switch.

     

    Second - the switch defaults to 192.168.0.239 IF there is no DHCP server on the network - the switch MAY NOT BE at 192.168.0.239 - it may be a good idea to disconnect the switch from the network, reset it to factory defaults and then reconfigure it from scratch.

     

    It is to avoid confusion such as this that I strongly suggest that switches and other network infrastructure devices be set to static addresses.

     

    To answer your questions - yes - there is a time out - if you disconnect from the switch without logging out, it will time out the session - the time out perios is usually configurable, however, this will not prevent you from reconnecting - the switch will simply tell you there is an existing session from ip a.b.c.d and tell you to connect again.
