Upgrading from GS752TP to M4300 - Getting VLANs set up
I have a network with several GS servies switches and one non-netgear firewall/Router.
I have a VOIP Phone system and a data network
Voice IPs are served via DHCP on VLAN 2 via one port on the Router
Data IPs are served via DHCP on VLAN 1 via another port on the Router
Data from Servers comes in directly to switch
Voice from VOIP Host comes in directly to switch
Many Computers are plugged it through the phones
Currently, My GS switch is set up with minimal configuration. VLANs are set up as follows:
- VLAN 1 - Default, VLAN 2 (Voice Vlan) - Default, VLAN 3 (Auto Video VLAN) - Default ( These are factory setting )
- VLAN 1 - (Type = default) Ports 43 and 44 are not marked T or U. The rest are marked U
- VLAN 2 - (Type = static) Ports 43 and 44 are Marked U. The rest are marked T
- VLAN 3 - (Not Used) (Type - static) No ports are maked T or U
When I tried to copy this information to my new M4300, the devices on VLAN 1 (computers) got ip address just fine, but the devices on VLAN 2 didn't. So the phones didn't get IP addresses, but the computers hooked in through them as well as the computers not connected through the phones did.
Any help with figuring out where I went wrong on configuring thee M4300 would be great.

Hi MCuddy,
Welcome to the community!
That is odd, does this setup work fine on the GS switches? What firmware version do you have on the M4300?
Thanks,
