VLAN between different subnets

Hi,

I`m trying to connect to a vlan at a partners site but struggling and could do with some help.

Site 1

DrayTek 3900 Router

Netgear M4100-50G-POE+

IP address range: 10.0.10.1/24, VLAN 110 (Tagged)

vlan 100 (untagged) & vlan 110 (tagged)

Site 2

Cisco 3750X

IP address range: 10.23.31.0/24, VLAN 31 (Tagged)

vlan 100 (untagged) & vlan 31 (tagged)

Site 1 is connected to site 2 via a fibre with native vlan 100 (untagged) and vlan 110 (tagged)

We would like to connect to machines from site 1 (10.0.10.xx) to site 2 (10.31.31.xx) and visa versa.

Any help will be most welcome.

Thanks

James

  • Hi, what you need to do is just create a route entry on each side pointing to the other network with the routers outside address as a next hop. Do this over the untagged link and define a transder network like 192.168.168.0/24

    Example

    router site 1

IP route 10.23.31.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.168.10 (WAN address of site 2)

    router site 2

IP route 10.0.10.1 255.255.255.0 192.168.168.20 (WAN address of site 1)

    hope this helps
