Firmware Error? QoS Rate Limit

Hi,

I just set the OoS Rate Limit Ingress Rate to 32 Mbps and the Egress Rate to 8 Mbps. When I downloaded a larger file via WeTransfer, I noticed that both Upload and Download are reduced to 8 Mbps. As a test I swapped the values of the Ingress Rate and Egress Rate to avoid a possible error. The Up- and Download Rate still were reduced to 8 Mbit/s.

Thanks for a solution.

Greetings,

Chris

Perfectly correct - typical chair-keyboard issue.

    Think again....

According to the screeenshot, you have all ports rate limited ...

    Spoiler

There are _two_ ports participating in the data path!

Upload: The egress rate on the port to the Internet/router is limited to 8 Mb/s.

Download: The egress rate of the port to the computer side is limited to 8 Mb/s.

If you intend to limit the rate to the "computer" ports, only configure a rate limit on the coputer ports, not on the uplink port.

If you intend to limit the rate for all computers on this switch, only configure the rate limit on the uplink port, not on the indvidual computer ports.

    chrisp08,

    Welcome to the community! :)

    Kindly answer the questions below:

    a. How did you observe that both Upload and Download are reduced to 8 Mbps?

    b. What is the size of the file that you were downloading via WeTransfer?

    c. How is everything connected?  Is the computer you are using directly connected to the GSS108EPP?  It would be best if you post an image of your detailed network diagram.

    d. What is the current firmware version of your GSS108EPP?

    Regards,
