GS110TP firmware version
I'm setting up a GS110TP that hasn't been used in a while so the first thing I did was to check if it was running the latest firmware, but now I'm quite confused... The support page claims the latest version is 5.0.1.10, but that makes no sense since this switch is currently running firmware 5.0.2.22 installed and moreover this version apparently came pre-installed since there's a sticker on a back that says "HW GS110TP V1H1" and "SW 5.0.2.22" along with the MAC and serial number.
Needless to say, if it shipped with 5.0.2.22 then it feels very strange to suggest that 5.0.1.10 is the most appropriate firmware version to use.
When I dug around a bit in the knowledgebase I actually found a whole bunch of much newer firmware files for "GS110TP & GS108Tv2" which based on name would seem apply; notably the presence of a version suffix on "GS108Tv2" suggests to me that its absence on "GS110TP" means this firmware is not specifically for the v2 only. Yet for many of these it says on the right side of the firmware page "This article applies to: GS108Tv2, GS110TPv2" though some like 5.4.2.35 do claim they apply to GS110TP, but that could also just be a mistake.
I don't think this is a GS110TPv2 though? Apart from the sticker on the back which says it's a "GS110TP V1H1" (whatever that means), the model is listed as just "GS110TP" in every other place I checked: on the bottom of the device; in the web interface:
Model Name: GS110TP
Boot Version: B5.1.0.2
Sw Version: 5.0.2.22
and via SNMP:
SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: GS110TP
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: NETGEAR-REF-MIB::gs110tp
ENTITY-MIB::entPhysicalDescr[1] = STRING: GS110TP
ENTITY-MIB::entPhysicalDescr[2] = STRING: Broadcom BCM53312 - 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card
ENTITY-MIB::entPhysicalSoftwareRev[1] = STRING: 5.0.2.22
ENTITY-MIB::entPhysicalModelName[1] = STRING: GS110TP smartSwitch
ENTITY-MIB::entPhysicalModelName[2] = STRING: GS110TP
So... what am I supposed to make of this? What is the latest/best firmware for this switch?

That's an interesting one. Attached the release notes GS110TP & GS108Tv2 Firmware Version 5.0.2.22 from my local archive. Would be great, if a Netgear rep could figure out what was going on DaneA JohnC_V Marc_V JeraldM NiveditaP please.
GS110TP & GS108Tv2 Firmware Version 5.0.2.22
Please refer to the following documents before upgrading your firmware. It is very important to follow the upgrade process documented due to changes in firmware and boot code.
- SCC 1.1 release notes
- Upgrading GS108Tv2 and GS110TP from 5.0.1.x to 5.0.2.x
Bug Fixes:
- Fix the problem that unplugging and plugging the cable continuously with RSTP enabled could cause the switch to reboot.
- Fix the problem that packet always get forwarded to Voice VLAN when its source MAC matches a predefined OUI even when the OUI is deleted.
- Fix the problem that GS110TP PoE Timer (System > PoE > Advanced > Timer Schedule Configuration) does not work past midnight.
- Fix the problem that entries in Memory Log are not showing the correct time zone.
- Fix the problem that when switch receives a Kiss of Death (KOD) packet from the SNTP server, it won't log the event into Memory Log.
- Fix the problem that when Clock Source (System > Management > Time > SNTP Global Configuration) is SNTP, the clock occasionally appears to either running behind or jumping ahead of the real time.
- Fix incorrect description of context help for the "APPLY" button on the Web GUI.
- Change default setting of "Validate IGMP IP Header" (Switching > Multicast > IGMP Snooping > IGMP Snooping Configuration) from Enable to Disable.
- Fix the problem that the device does not retain the configuration of VLAN 2 as the management VLAN after a reboot.
- Fix the problem that backup configuration file shows PoE schedule dates are one month earlier.
- Fix the problem that LLDP-MED is not advertising voice VLAN to IP phones.
Known issues:
- While the link is up, port cannot be removed from a VLAN if it is also member of a LAG.
Workaround: Remove the link or remove the port from the LAG first. - After setting the maximum number of allowed static locked MAC address to zero (under Security > Traffic Control > Port Security > Interface Configuration), no static MAC address can be added even when port security is disabled.
Workaround: Change back the "Max Allowed Statically Locked MAC" from 0 to 20.
Installation Instructions:
- Download using the button below, saving to a convenient place such as your desktop.
- Please follow the instructions provided in Upgrading GS108Tv2 and GS110TP from 5.0.1.x to 5.0.2.x to upgrade the firmware.

If it's safe to do so I'd certainly like to try more recent firmware (e.g. 5.4.2.36) to see if it works any better than the 5.0.2.22 it's running right now... I've noticed that VLAN management via SNMP is very buggy in this release.
I'm working on a project that needs to do VLAN management via SNMP (to setup temporary isolated networks for automated tests) and along the way I've already encountered plenty of SNMP bugs in the main switch we're using for this (a GS748Tv5 running fw 6.3.1.43), but its issues are pretty minor compared to how broken things are on the GS110TP with fw 5.0.2.22.

Different hardware versions from what I can understand.

Not a very informative bug or problem report either way. Well possible one is entering some grey zone with the probably less teste SNMP config controls.
