GS305E mobile WiFi loss of connection.

Newbie alert, hello everyone.

I have a simple set up from a router to the GS305E switching device which is hard wired  by Ethernet 40metres away. This works perfectly with one computer working windows 11 …24/7 situated near the switching device.

My mobile cell phone connects perfectly  to WiFi 24/7 when nearby the router but as soon as I get close to the switching device prior to 0600 hrs BST

the mobile device drops WiFi signal. As soon as 0600 is reached it reconnects via the switching device. This happens every day.
I can’t find any settings for parental controls or update timings on the insight app.

Any ideas of help greatly appreciated please

John

As others have said, this is very unlikely to be caused by the switch.

Try turning the switch off as a test to confirm this.

The GS305E isn't Insight manageable at all - just discoverable.

No parental control on a switch.

What is the make and model of the router?

There seems to be a misunderstanding of the functionality of an Ethernet switch like your GS305E: It does (on it's own) -not- expand the wireless reach of your router WiFi.

Whatever happens around 0600 BST - loss of the Wi-Fi connection to your router - has unlikely something to do with the switch.

Just curious: For what purpose you have installed the network cable with the GS305E switch? Keep in mind it's just an Ethernet switch, and (on its own) neither a wireless access point or a wireless extender (repeater). What are the WIFI signal levels in your house, and when you are near to the to the GS305E?

    Regards,

    -Kurt.
