Hi I have had this switch awhile. It appears to be working ok except that on Microsoft Teams calls they frequently drop out for several seconds. Are there any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this? e.g. QoS or any other settings that should be configured differently to the default? It used to work ok with Teams but no longer.
I am using what I believe are the most recent updates available.
Model Name | Boot Version | Software Version |
GS724Tv3 | B5.1.1.1 | 5.4.2.30 |
Or should I throw it away and replace it. Thanks.

Hello pgibson,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
Is the issue happening only when there is a lot of traffic on the network? Or does it happen even with little traffic? If it is the latter then setting QoS may not help. Can you check if bypassing the switch resolves the issue? Is this happening to all devices using Teams or just on specific computer?

Hi thank you for the reply.
It appears to happen only with one particular device when using Teams (and little other traffic).

Hello pgibson
I acknowledge that your switch is an older version, which may be contributing to the issue. Have you tried connecting your device directly to the router to see if the problem persists? If the issue doesn’t occur when bypassing the switch, the switch itself could indeed be the source of the problem.
You might also want to try moving the connection to a higher port number on the switch, or if you're already connected to a higher port, switch to a lower port to see if that makes a difference.
Let me know if this helps, and we can proceed from there.
Have a lovely day,

Thank you I have switched from port 19 and port 3 and will try that. Albeit don't understand why that would make a difference?

Hello pgibson
As I understand it, some Netgear switches have a portion of their ports manufactured using a different brand of board. The reason for this design choice is unclear to me yet.
