Was there any solution to this? I have the same problem. The switch won't initiate factory reset when factory reset button is pressed for 5s. Didn't try longer as I didn't want to erase the registration status.

What exactly you want to address with the reset - and what was he effective result or effect?
Have been unable reaching the switch Web UI or get back a ping from it's IP address?

Netgear product registration is can't be undone by any kind of reset.
