AirPrint does not work behind switch
Hi,
AirPrint works in my home network as long as the GS105v5 switch is not in 'the chain'.
I use the switch to connect to a laptop, a PC and the printer in the study to the home network. If I unplug the network cable from the switch and put it in the printer directly all works.
Also sometimes it seems to work when the local PC (also behind the switch) is on? or has been on some minutes before.
It is not a managed switch and has no IP that I can change or set or settings I could disable (like IGMP snooping which sens an issue sometimes with netgear).
My technical abilities are severely questioned by my family now, need your help.
WBR,
Wouter
- Definitely not the switch. Switching off /on all inbetween units and t printer itself did the trick. Tnx for follow-up

Hi WouterBiemans,
Welcome to the community! :)
As far as I have checked, there is no issue logged for the GS105v5 switch wherein AirPrint won't work as long as the GS105v5 is within the existing network as per described in your post.
Let us isolate the problem. Kindly answer the questions below:
a. While the GS105v5 switch is connected to your existing network, does your printer able to get a valid IP address when it is connected to the GS105v5 switch?
b. Is the GS105v5 switch connected to a router? How is everything connected? It would be best if you post an image or screenshot of your detailed network setup.
c. Have you tried to reboot the GS105v5 switch then try if you will be able to use AirPrint?
Not sure if this will help, however, let me share the articles below:

- WouterBiemansAspirantHi, first the printer worked when bypassing the netgear switch but also this solution was not consistent/sustainable. So my conclusion could only be it was NOT the netgear switch after all.
I cycled power to all involved switched, routers , airport express and the printer itself. The pronter shows up under airprint, Let’s see if it still works tomorrow...- DaneANETGEAR Employee Retired
