Based from your initial post, whenever you connect a computer to the GS105, the other devices connected to it loses connection. But, when you disconnect the same computer from the GS105, the other devices gets connectivity again. It seems that the problem is not the GS105.
Be informed that the GS105 is a pass-through, unmanaged switch. Its main purpose is to extend the LAN so that you connect more devices like a PC, network printer, etc.
Is your modem a modem-only device or a combination of modem & router?
Is there a router connected to the modem? If yes, is the GS105 connected directly to a router?
When you connect the computer directly to the GS105, does it obtain a valid IP address?
