RMA email never arrived

Got an RMA today for a failed GS105 that is two years old. Please post or e-mail me the return address and instructions. I also need to know if the power supply goes back with it or I keep that?

Not sure who insists on not understanding here. It's not my concept, so please blame the sun eruption....

Happy to pick up your car engine example. If you buy a replacement engine (not from the salvage yard) for your car, you get a replacement engine without any accessory - no alternator/generator, no A/C compressor, no ignition magnets (yeah I'm old enough, still standard on aircraft engines), no exhaust gas collector, no airbox, no ignition cables, no fuel pump, no hydraulic pump, .... (unless negotiated otherwise) - lots of items required to operate the engine.

You send just the switch back. If you want to insist stating it's just the power supply which is broken (lucky yours it isn't) and you just need the power supply, or the situation is difficult (unclear if switch or power supply) it has to be explained and discussed with Netgear's support. .

This is the public support forum where members of the public help out.

You'd want to contact official support for that info.

Accessories like power supplies, cables, rack mounts, are not to be returned. Unless I'm wrong, external power supplies aren't covered by the lifetime warranty anyway.

Negear mods can often help resolving possible broken email loops, but it will take time.

Inquired this to the NETGEAR Support Team and found out that an e-mail was already sent to you regarding your concern. Please review the NETGEAR Warranty Return Policy on the link below:

nope. I've read each one several times. AND the Netgear policy does not mention power supplies. Technically it is not an accessory. It is a required part of the device to work.  It would be like saying a car engine is an accessory to your car.

Have received the RMA information required in the meantime?

Netgear Support Knowledge Base: Frequently Asked Questions about the ProSAFE® Limited Lifetime Warranty

Q: Are fans and power supplies covered?

A: Yes, fans and internal power supplies are covered under the lifetime hardware warranty. External power supplies will continue with their specified warranties.

This reads to me like the external power supplies are covered by the market specific warranty terms, like one year in the US, or two years in Europe - but excluded from the lmited lifetime warranty.
