What is the difference between switches models FS524 and JFS524 ?
Hello, I have these two switches and I can't tell what is different between them except that the FS254 has lights on the ethernet ports whereas the JFS524 does not. Is that the only difference?
They are years old but, if I recall correctly, the FS524 was significantly more expensive when they were purchased.
Thanks.
Hi starfry,
Welcome to our community!
You are right but then, the differences between the 2 is that the FS524 is the older unit which only has a 5 years hardware warranty unlike the JFS524 which is already covered with the lifetime hardware warranty support.

That is interesting. My JFS524 is dead so can I avail of the lifetime hardware warranty?
By "dead" I mean that the power supply is outputting no voltage.

You may create a chat / case online on NETGEAR support and also be ready with a soft copy of the Proof of Purchase or Invoice of the device for warranty verification. If ever the device is still under warranty, an online replacement will be provided.
