FVS318G Permit RDP between all LAN computers
Well, I just got my FVS318G and have successfully configured to forward port 3389 to a specific LAN computer that I want to access via RDP from the internet.
However, I want to also be able to RDP between all the LAN computers when at home.
I have read the forums...googled...experimented with settings...and unfortunately no joy.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks...p

- Retired_MemberImportant note: Remote desktop is only included in the Professional, Business, or Ultimate versions of Windows. Home editions do not have remote desktop. Did you even read this? It clearly states see above it's not included. So I'll ask you again, Do you have a link which supports your answer that all OS have this option, Because I cannot seem to locate one. Thanks Again, Bill
- Retired_MemberJune, I had all but given up trying to use RDP / RDC to connect to wife's laptop remotely. Then today, to my amazement, I'm told by you that all OS's have it. So based on your senior stature in this forum with over 87,000 post I assumed I was wrong. You then post a link which clearly states to the contrary and a reasonable person would wonder if you actually comprehend what you read. Below is an excerpt from YOUR link which you posted to validate your claim. "You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium." You made a statement, you stated that all OS have that option and again I'm looking to use it, so please help a fellow forum user and provide a link which I can use to fix my problem because I cannot seem to find it on my own. Thanks Again, Bill Today 07:40 AMjmizoguchiRe: FVS318G Permit RDP between all LAN computers All windows O/S XP and up will have RDP. Also you will need to be aware that mixing old RDP version and new version can conflict if you do not setup correctly.
- jmizoguchiVirtuosoThere is a hack to do that. I had win7 starter in Asus NetBook
Good luck - Retired_MemberGreat. I'll keep hacking away until I find it.
- Retired_MemberGreat News! I found the Hack! There Is A HACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://andrewblock.net/2010/02/23/enable-remote-desktop-on-windows-7-home-premium-64-32-bit/ To be fair I wanted to clarify this. I said earlier today that all OS do not support RDP and you said all OS do indeed support it. I took that as if you were saying I was wrong, So I wanted to apologize for doubting you and I now understand that if there is a Hack than the OS does indeed support it according to you. I am at a loss for words at the extent one would go to instead of just admitting they made a mistake, misspoke or misunderstood. I am not perfect and have many faults, and when someone says I am wrong I take time to learn if that's the case, you might try it someday yourself. Have a good night, Bill

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This site could really use a fact checker.:D June says all OS have RDP What does little June (Joe) say?:)jmizoguchi wrote: All windows O/S XP and up will have RDP. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoUseless to post thread to abuse it
Already answers and you founded to stop useless post
You just making fool yourself .. - Daedalus01AspirantHe's actually correct. All Windows version XP and up have have RDP. He didn't specify if it was the client or server part. All versions have the Client, or can get the client.
To the OP-- If your still having issues, you can try rebooting the computers, checking to see if your AntiVirus program also has a firewall part that may need to be configured, and lastly you can turn windows firewall off and/or your antivirus program to see if it would allow connection. If you want to be able to connect to the computer using the name of the computer you can edit the HOSTS file on the computer that way when you type the name of the computer in, it will translate the name to the correct IP address. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoDamn skippy!
