FVS318g port forwarding doesn't work after upgrading firmware
I recently upgraded the firmware on an FVS318G unit to 3.1.1-14. Prior to this the LAN WAN rules worked but now they don't.
I have tried the following, without success:
* disabled and reenabled the rules
* disabled and added them to the DMZ WAN rules
* restarted the router
* recreated the rule and the associated service
Turned on logging for a couple of rules but nothing is registered.
From the Monitoring - Diagnostics tab, I can ping the devices that I'm trying to access so I know they are online. In one instance, the device was restarted but still no connection could be made.
The only item I haven't done is downgrade the firmware.
Is there something else that needs done to allow these rules to work with the new firmware?

- hankburtonAspirantI just downgraded the firmware to the previous version, and the LAN WAN rules work again. Appears to be an issue with the latest firmware or the configuration in place and the latest firmware.
- jmizoguchiVirtuosoDid you hard reset the router and tried?
- mypctechsAspirantSame exact issue as the OP, but I had two FVS318g routers so I am able to confirm this is a firmware issue.
One is with firmware 3.0.7-34 in "Classical Routing" mode. With this router I can setup services, add them to firewall LAN WAN inbound rules, and ports and services are forwarded through to any IP device on the network for processing.
The other is upgraded to 3.1.1-14. After firmware upgrade I did a factory reset (held down button) and then configured all the settings to be exactly the same as 3.0.7-34. Port forwarding/services inbound rules are all exactly the same as on the 3.0.7-34 but traffic does not get passed inbound through the firewall.
Really need this fixed ASAP. - thbodartNoviceSame issue, DG834 bridged + FVS318G 3.1.1.08 = internet connection. Save the configuration, reset the router, upgrade to 3.1.1.14, reload the configuration and no more internet connection. Reload 3.1.1.08 and internet revival. A little bug somewhere ?
- SamirDProdigyBe sure you guys are building the config back from scratch after the upgrade. Most of the time these setting save/restore functions are pretty useless on most routers between firmware upgrades.
- Michelle911AspirantI have also experienced this issue. I tried it three times and it cuts access to my exchange server services every time. I have tried to restore the configuration from a file and that did not solve the problem. Do you mean to hard reset and enter all of the settings again one by one? I have a lot of entries, so if someone else tries this and it works please let us know.
