FVS336GV2 19" Rack Mount Kit - SKU or P/N:

Hi all,

As the subject suggest I'm chasing the purchase of a rack mount kit for our FVS336GV2 and could do with the Netgear part number to order if someone can list it please?

The manual shows on page 18 that it's part of supplied contents then on page 22 mounting the unit in the rack mount kit.

http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/FVS336GV2/FVS336Gv2_RM_18DEC14.pdf

However the datasheet on last page doesn't show it as part of the supplied contents......

When I call netgear they keep telling me the rack kit is p/n: 42010043-01.

This kit is for the M4100 desktop series switch and won't suit the FVS336Gv2.

The M4100-DG12 is 328mm~321mm wide and the FVS336Gv2 is only 254mm wide.

Even if the above kit mounting screw holes are the correct pattern to fit onto the side of the FVS336Gv2 the ears would be to short to reach the edge of the rack mount uprights to mount it anyway.

Regards,

Peter.

  • Hi Peter_A,

    Welcome to the community.

I regret to inform you that it seems there is a mistake in the manual of the FVS336Gv2 for it is not intended for rackmount design.

  • Hi Dane,

Thanks for the reply over the festive season.

You are correct in that there must be an error in the manual.
On further inspection of the physical unit it does not have and mounting holes in the case to support any kind of rack mount bracket attachment.
I will have to install a small slotted shelf in the rack that is just big enough to sit the unit on.

    Regards,
    Peter.
