incoming Access thru firewall

Hello, I have a prosafe gigabit 8 port firewall FVS318G, setup and working well with default settings. In my home network I have setup a PC running freenas.  I have also setup a web (HTTP) address to takes me to my network. I have tried different settings and cannot seem to get part the firewall (I get the firewall sign in screen). I would like to enter the web address from a remote pc and get to the freenas sign in screen. Thanks in advance.

    Hi mpratt,

    Welcome to the community! :)

I suggest you to configure an LAN WAN Inbound Rule.  As reference, kindly read pages 4-11 and 4-15 of the FVS318G reference manual here about LAN WAN Inbound Service Rules and an example of creating an LAN WAN Inbound Rule: Hosting a Local Public Web Server respectively.

Thank you for the response. I am a novice in setting up this router and need a little more help. I reviewed the parts of the manual and understand most, not all of the settings I need to apply.

My router address is 192.168.1.1 and the NAS server is 192.168.1.137.

My LAN WAN inbound services settings are:

      Service: HTTP

      Action: ALLOW always

Send to LAN Server: Single Address

      Start: 192.168.1.137

      WAN Destination IP Address: Broadband

      WAN Users: Any

      Log: Never

      Bandwidth Profile: NONE

When the rule is disabled, the web address brings up the router sign in screen.

When the rule is active, the connection times out.

      Thanks again in advance.

        Hi mpratt,

Since you have already allowed HTTP for inbound service, kindly verify if its really open by using an online port scanner like here.

Also, check if HTTP access is already configured to be allowed on the FreeNAS.

        Let us know the result.

        Regards,
