Is it possible to flush the IP cashe on FVS336G
I found this post that was closed because they needed enterprise access. I have a similar issue with the FVS336G. I recently upgraded all my routers from v1 to v2. I had to manually reset all of the LAN/VPN setting because the backup logs are apparently incompatible due to DMZ. I have been successful EXCEPT for a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit. I need to set the the internal IP address to 198.162.1.7 for remote control purposes (Dameware). Unfortunately, when I started it up, the router assigned it 198.162.1.14. Everything works fine with this setting. But if I try to set the IP back to 198.162.1.7 ONLY the LAN works. I loose ability to access the internet (WAN). I have reloaded the operating system on the laptop, with the same result... even set the IP to fixed 198.162.1.7 before connecting the network cable... so I am sure the issue centers on the router remembering something. I have rebooted the router, toggled the laptop IP address in the router between Fixed & Reserved (DHCP), set the IP as fixed on the laptop, toggled the DNS and ARP check-boxes, released and renewed the WAN settings, cleared the DHCP log... nothing works. It seem that the first address the router assigned is the only one to work and I can't change it. What am I missing? Is there a way to flush the cache without loosing all my settings and starting over? The posting below seems similar to the issue I am having. Thanks for your time. jstevemd Firmware version 3.0.7-24
THIS IS AN OLD POST NEVER ANSWERED - SEEM LIKE THE SAME ISSUE
Is it possible to flush the IP cache on the FVS336G?
I have one device which had a reserved IP address based on it's mac address. I've built a new, faster, and more capable replacement and would like it to occupy the same IP address (10.1.2.1). So I moved the old mac/IP address to 10.1.2.11, and replaced it with the new mac/IP address at 10.1.2.1. However when I do this, the new 10.1.2.1 machine can no longer access the internet (external to my home). However, I'm still able to access everything inside of my home.
I'm very certain that this problem is caused by the FVS336G receiving a response to 10.1.2.1 and seeing the old mac address in it's cache -- and since that machine is turned off, it has nobody to talk to -- and the internet access dies right there. To test this, I spoofed the old mac address on the new machine, and everything works fine. Permenantly spoofing the mac address is not a viable solution because the old machine can't spoof mac addresses at all, and I will want both of them online at the same time.
To further test my theory of the IP/mac address cache pollution, I disconnected the FVS336G and plugged in my older FVS318G -- a router that had no concept of either mac addresses. Of course it worked fine. This should conclusively prove that the problem lies in the IP/mac address cache on the FVS336G.
I've looked through the menus for a way to clear it. I've upgraded to the latest firmware hoping it would clear it. I set the lease time to 1 hour and powered off all of the machines for more than one hour to try to clear it. I've tried everything except a complete hardware reset. I'm very reluctant to do the HW reset because I have many configuration settings -- that even though they are saved -- would be a real pain to even get it up and running to the point that I could load the settings (the machine is in my basement...a good distance away).
So: is there any way to clear this cache? Or in the event that this isn't the problem -- does anybody know how to fix this problem?

- jmizoguchiVirtuosoI don't remember that this issues with changing the primary LAN subnet to other than default ..
When you reserve on the router with Mac address, I recommend to reboot the router and also the PC as well. On windows ipconfig /release /renew command may work but sometime don't. On Mac , usually when I reserve on mac address, it usually able to renew on the spot.
It's been a while using 3366 but because I have don't so many lab testing on my rack which are getting dusty but I personally had crazy issues... - jstevemdAspirantNone of that helped. I have rebooted both the computer and router. Even powered off the router and reinstalled the OS (Windows 7-64). Nothing seems to help, other than revert to the IP address of 192.168.1.14. Thanks for your help.
