Need a recommendation
Hello,
I need a recommendation for a router. I saw the WAC730, will that allow me to take my connection from fiOS and add additionally access points throughout the house the extend my network? I have a consumer device and extender now but the networks dont have the same name which requires manual switching which I believe this will replace and I like the gigbit wireless.

The WAC730 is not a router but an access point, it does not have its own DHCP server and NAT. Access points needs to be connected to the router unless you are using bridging/repeating mode. The more times the signal is repeated the bandwidth speed is being cut in half (or almost). There is a cheaper version, the WAC720 which is also a good alternative. You can take advantage of the "ensemble" feature of these models which allows you to use the same SSID and creating a roaming network. Please click here on how to configure ensemble.

Also WAP's, is there a more cost effective version I can deploy at the furthest reaches so it will be slower but still have access?

Ok, so would it be possible to use my current netgear consumer router with the waps by wire and turning off the wireless on the router?
