WNDAP360 won't negotiate at gigabit speed

Hi.

I have a WNDAP360 which refuses to negotiate at gigabit speed, only 100mbit.

After following the instructions for the initial setup, the AP was plugged into my prosafe GS724t via PoE injector and two short patch leads for bench testing, and after a few blinks of the green connection status led, it changed to a steady orange. I've repeated this with an alternative gigabit switch by Allied Telesis, used different patch leads, and also without the injector and directly into the switch, all resulting in the same outcome.

I have since updated the firmware to current version which had no effect on the problem.

I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong but I just cannot figure out what.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Regards

Kelvin.

  • Hi GFresh,

It seems that the ethernet port itself is faulty.  I suggest you to open an online case with NETGEAR Support at anytime.  Kindly state your concern and the troubleshooting steps done to isolate the problem.  Attach a .pdf or .doc copy of the Proof of Purchase or Sales Invoice of the WNDAP360 for warranty verification.  If ever the hardware warranty is still valid, then an online replacement will follow.

    Regards,

    Hi Kelvin

I hope your switch and WNDAP360 configurations are default. If not please share those configuration. We will check and update

    Thanks

  • Hi Raghu

Yes, both devices are currently running the default settings, with the exception of the WNDAP360 having an SSID applied.

      Hi Kelvin

We have GS724Tv1/v2/v3/v4, which one you are using?

      Thanks

      Raghu

  • I'm out of the office today so can't confirm, but I believe it's a v2

      Hi Kelvin

Thx. Can you please check by directly connecting power adpater to WNDAP360 not via PoE injector?

      Thanks

I hope you are using Cat5/6 cable if not please check with these cables.

        Thanks

        Raghu
