I have an old router which has been tossed out

Has anyone had any resolution to this problem? I'm in the same boat. I have an old router which has been tossed out, and I am not able to contact support, because in order to contact support you have to pay for the subscription service, so support for Netgear is impossible. I've seen other threads with basically the same story.

NETGEAR_Support ???

  • I came to the Community Form because I am too cheap to pay Netgear to let me talk to someone reading from a script.  There are really experienced people who respond to specific questions.  If you describe the model of router and the problem, they often have relavent information to offer.

    On the other hand, a really old (obsolete) router may not be worth messing with.  It could be time to "let it go".

    Almost as impossible to find an effective question - a problem that somenody has found a tossed out Netgear router or what?

    Do you have a real question the community members related to Netgear routers in general, or related to NEtgear routers supporting Netgear Armor specifically?

    Every Netgear router has a product label, plus some more indications which might help us to identify that router - so start with:

    1. Netgear model (from the proiduct label) Netgear model description from the integrated Web UI?
    2. What problem, what was the exact question again please?

    This is an ancient account, probably created a long time ago by a Netgear employee, but no longer active, read: Retired. So this is certainly not an active Netgear Support account...

    Have a question related to Netgear Armor as you posted in this section?

    Which products support NETGEAR Armor?

    Most devices Netgear ever made are documented:

    Where can I find information about my NETGEAR product?

    Netgear Consumer Routers -> https://www.netgear.com/support/home/downloads

    Netgear Business Routers -> https://www.netgear.com/support/enterprise/

      According to Grafixmac earlier community posts, one might guess you are talking of a  RAX70 and Netgear Armor.

      Is your Netgear Amor subscription simply expired, or does Armor not work as epected?

      On my.netgear.com -> Get Support -> Open a support case ...

      ...tick "I have a subscription service", select [Armor] from the list...

      ...then you can select either [Call Support] (or [Chat with us])...

      Describe the issue...

      ...after entring the issue desciption, the [Next] button will become active, ...

      You will get a phone number (depending on your market, country, ...) for

      Home and Mobile WiFi Products (Orbi, Nighthawk, NETGEAR Armor, WiFi extenders and mobile hotspots, etc.):

      ...and a Case Number (you might have to key in on your phone if requested.

      Same details are sent to you by email, too.

      That much about contactoing Netgear Support is impossible.

      In order to open a Support Case, as displayed on the Netgear page to Contact Support, and also in the very screen shot you posted, it states very clearly:

      "Requires an entitled product or subscription".

      My (old) product (which was registered and has a serial number) is no longer listed in the drop down menu (my current router and modem are), therefore I cannot choose the old item to get support.

      I also do not have AirCard.

      I also do not have a subscription.

      The issue is that this old product (as explained by the OP) is still listed in my Netgear Armor dashboard.

      I do not want it in my Netgear Armor dashboard. Why? Because it is in some landfill somewhere.

      There is NO option to remove it.

      I cannot create a support case or contact customer support for the reasons explained above.

      I am going around in circles.

      The EASIEST fix would for someone at Netgear to simply allow the option in the Netgear Armor dashboard, "TO REMOVE DEVICE". Not hard.
