R7000 netgear app and bt tv issues

I have bt tv lan connected by a bt ac1900 wifi extender.
Bt hub 6 for internet connected lan to r7000 providing the wifi.
When using the Netgear app to turn kids internet off it then messed up internet tv channels on the bt tv box and the router has to be rest every time !!.
The kids xboxs go through the extender wifi

Why is turning off a device messing up the bt tv box ?

It's not a one off it is every single time something is turned off or on via the app.

    Hi Brummybloke,

    1. What is the firmware version of the R7000?

    2. Is the R7000 setup in AP mode or in router mode?

    3. Is the extender extending the signal from the BT Hub or from the R7000?

    4. Is the BT TV box connected to the BT Hub or to the R7000?

    5. Are you using the pause Internet feature on the Genie app?

      Hi Brummybloke,

      1. Does the issue persist if you have the XBOX's connected to the R7000's WiFi?

      2. Does the issue persist if you have the BT TV box wired to the R7000?

      3. Does the issue persist when you pause the Internet on the devices connected to the R7000?

      4. When you say "reset", are you powering down the router and powering it back on or are you doing a factory reset?

        1. Does the issue persist if you have the XBOX's connected to the R7000's WiFi?
The Xboxes don't teach wifi on the r7000 which is why they go through the extender.

        2. Does the issue persist if you have the BT TV box wired to the R7000?
The bt box can't be wired to the r7000 as the bt tv box is in my bedroom while the r7000 is in the living room with the bt hub.

        3. Does the issue persist when you pause the Internet on the devices connected to the R7000?
        No just on the extender

        4. When you say "reset", are you powering down the router and powering it back on or are you doing a factory reset?
I'm resetting the router via the net genie.

        Thanks again
