unable to access web interface, and orbi app fails to connect too (RBRE960)
hey,
I have the Orbi AXE11000 Quad-Band WiFi 6E Router (RBRE960) with two satellites.
At the moment I am unable to access the system settings, however I try:
- Web interface, fails to respond.
- Orbi access on home network, error: "We can't find Orbi."
- Orbi app outside the home, error: "We can't find your Orbi"
The mobile app looks like it just updated, and on iOS is now at version 2.45.1 but note the web interface also isn't responding....
The actual Wi-Fi and Internet connectivity is all working OK. I just can't change any setting.
I am loathe to hard reset the system because I do not have a recent configuration backup and also because unless I understand how this has happened I worry about it just breaking again in the same way.
What has caused this and how can I resolve?
I read elsewhere that this is because of a firmware problem (?) and that it's possible for Netgear to push an updated firmeware out. Is this the case, and if so how can I get that to happen?
(There seems to be no way for me to contact Netgear as the product is three years old which is really frustrating when the software goes wrong through no fault of mine)
Or, is there any way for me to manually update the firmware without access to the web interface?
All pointers appreciated.
Thanks!

Same problem here with Orbi 753

More information about how the web interface is being accessed would be useful:
- Have tried more than one web browser and more than one device? (computer, laptop, tablet, etc.)
- Trying to use the URL (orbilogin.com, orbilogin.net, etc.)?
- Or, trying to open the actual IP address of the Orbi? (often 192.168.1.1 ..... but not always)
Hint: the IP address assigned to user devices will provide a clue to the Orbi LAN interface IP address.
If a device IP is 192.168.1.???, then the Orbi router should be at 192.168.1.1.
If a device IP is 10.0.0.???, then the Orbi router should be at 10.0.0.1

Tried three web browsers. Also tried the IP address and the url orbilogin.com etc.
Seems unlikely that that is the issue because both via the app and via the web interface the router settings can't be reached.

I have the same problem, RBRE960, moved router and modem to another connection point and this issue began. I cannot access router from Orbi app or from a PC, internet works fine. Put router and modem back in original location and still have problem. Deleted app and reinstalled app, tried anywhere access and router shows up but I get the message “device is offline”. Any solutions other than factory reset?

I gave up and did the hardware reset in the end.
But I am concerned about why it happened, and whether it will happen again.... No one gave me a straight answer as to the cause.

That is often required when you make changes to your network.

You don't say what you mean by that. In particular what is this "another connection point".
When you install a modem and router they have to negotiate a connection depending in the local circumstances. If you move them to a different Internet source, then the hardware has o work out how to make that connection.
Not sure that I understand this bit.

Should there be some more punctuation in there?

I'm in the same boat at if42; I'm glad you got it working again, but I think what I'm concerned about is how did it happen in the first place. It was working fine for me and then a couple days later it wasn't. It's not practical to need to reset it again without understanding what gets it into this situation the first place.
