Firmware update RBR750
Hi,
I cannot update the firmware of RBR750 Orbi Router. The current version is V4.6.5.29_0.0.33 which does not have smart parental control. Moreover, automatic update does not work for the firmware. I downloaded the firmware from the website for manual upgrade but the file extension is .chk while as per user manual, it should be .img.

Something odd going on here.
I see no sign of that ever being firmware for this device.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.Try manually updating FW. RBS first then RBR lastly:

Thanks. I downloaded the new firmware but it is .chk extension and the manual update does not consider it as the new firmware.
.chk is the file format that the RBS and RBR take. Be sure your using a web browser and selecting the .chk file thru the RBS or RBR manual FW update page. Be sure your using the RBS.chk file for the RBS and the RBR.chk file for the RBR.
Try using a different browser. MS Edge, Firefox or Opera all work.
Are you seeing same thing on the RBS? Be sure to update the RBS first then the RBR lastly. RBS use the RBS.chk file.
Would you confirm that this is the right FW version on your RBS and RBR?
I don't see this in NGs prior FW version history.
Is this Orbi system a retail system you bought someplace online or did you happen to get it from a ISP company by chance?
