Mesh Router RBR850 Does NOT show Connected Satellites on Web Display

I hope this is the correct forum.

When I log onto my routers through a browser interface, the connected Satellites do NOT show up.

As can be seen below, I have 4 satellites connected.

But, when I click to see attached devices, they do NOT show as can be seen below.  They used to show up and show me the connection quality.

On the Orbi app I can see the connected satellites

I sometimes check the connection quality and the app does not show it.

Any advice is appreciated.

  • What browser are you using?

What Firmware version is currently loaded on the RBR and RBS?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

Are the RBS wireless or ethernet connected to the RBR?

Does Orbi app show the 4 RBS as being connected?

      Hello,

      I am using Edge.

I have been on the phone with support for 3 hours.  He updated to the latest firmware on the router and satellites.

Unfortunately, we got disconnected and I have the same issue....

The satellites are definitely connected and we can see devices connected to them.

If I unplug a satellite, it shows up as a disconnected satellite.  When I plug it in, it no longer shows as a satellite, but it is definitely connected.

BTW, my ORBI router is set into AP mode.  On the support call, we rebooted the Comcast router as well....

When I get a chance, I will call support back....

  • Has the router been restarted? (Then, wait at least five minutes for things to settle down.)

      Thank you for the response.

Yes.  I have restarted everything multiple times.

On the support call, we also restared and upgraded to the latest firmware.

        (More pointless questions.....)

How are the satellites connected to the router?

        • Using the default 5G WiFi backhaul link?
        • Using Ethernet cable (i.e. 'wired')?
(If the satellites are 'wired', are they connected directly to the router LAN ports or is there a switch involved?)

What happens if the Orbi is placed in router mode?  I understand that when the Internet Service Provider device is itself a router, an Orbi in router mode creates what is called a "Double NAT" that makes specific internet applications much more cumbersome to implement. (not impossible, but a LOT more effort).  Plenty of customers have a Double NAT, never know, and suffer no ill effects.  I'm just wondering, "what if?"
