Orbi RBS750 disappeared
Dear community,
I use 1 Orbi RBS750 satellite with my NBR750 router running firmware v4.6.5.11_1.5.66.
Recently, I updated my Orbi RBS750 satellite to firmware v7.2.7.15. The satellite kept connecting fine and devices in my network connected to the satellite but it no longer showed up in the Orbi App or on the router portal (it is listed but shows as "disconnected"). Upon realising that the satellite firmware isn't compatible with my router, I manually downgraded it to v4.6.14.3. Again, the satellite connects, as well as devices to it, but it doesn't show up in the App or router portal.
I've now tried everything: factory reset on the satellite, factory reset on the router and reconfiguring the network, downgrading the satellite further to v4.6.11.1, removing the satellite from the list of attached devices and re-adding it, adding it through the App, adding it through the router portal, hitting the Sync buttons on one or both devices, combinations of all of the above. I've also tried and failed to upload firmware via ethernet cable and tftp. The reason it fails, as I've noticed, is that I actually can't truly factory reset the satellite - it always boots up to re-connect to the router. I've tried holding "reset" for different durations, unplugging the power once the light turns orange and blinks... Nothing helps. The satellite pops back into the network but invisible.
In general, my network is operational, but I'm rather annoyed that I can't manage it properly. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your support. I've followed your steps exactly; unfortunately, no change. I reset both devices and configured the network again. However, the satellite does not appear in the list of connected devices and cannot be found during the setup, nor by trying to add the satellite later through the app or web interface of the router. See here:
Regardless, through an IP scan, I can see that the satellite connects, and I can access its user interface through its IP address. See here:

I recommend you reach out to NG support and ask about this. Seems like a bug here.
Unfortunately the NBR version of the router doesn't have any newer FW updates and putting newer FW on the RBS would cause more problems as both NBR and RBS need to be on same level FW version.
Something on this system isn't working right to show the RBS being connected however seems to be connected to the NBR and working.Hopeing NG support can be more helpful on this.
Please remove MAC addresses from screen captures posted prior to public forums for security reasons.

Hello janhillebrand,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you are not able to see the satellite listed under devices from your router GUI page. This is due to the RBS750 firmware version 7.2.7.15 being incompatible with the NBR750. To resolve this issue, connect your computer directly to the satellite using an ethernet cable. Then, change the IP address on your computer from DHCP to static using the IP address 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Next, open your browser and type 192.168.1.250 in your search bar to navigate to your satellite GUI. A prompt for a username and password will appear (use the same credentials used to log into the router GUI). Then navigate to firmware update, then use the most compatible firmware with your NBR750. At this time, the most compatible firmware for your NBR750 is firmware version 4.6.14.3. Then select the upload button to upload the firmware version 4.6.14.3 to your RBS750.
Navigate to the link below to download firmware 4.6.14.3 for your RBS750:

If you press the reset button the RBS for 15 seconds then release, watch the back power LED, should be amber then turn GREEN. When it turns GREEN power it OFF.
Press the reset button on the NBR for 15 seconds then release. Leave the NBR ON. Give 2-3 minutes then power ON the RBS. Give about 3-5 minutes, the RBS should auto connect to the NBR and front LED should turn BLUE. If it does, walk thru the setup wizard on the NBR usng a wired PC and web browser: https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
During the setup wizard the process should find the RBS and then continue to complete the setup wizard and get to the home screen.
Do this with the RBS in the same room as the NBR.
