Attached Devices list shows for about a day then is not available on web app for RBE871
Hi,
The Attached Devices list shows for about a day then is not available on web app for RBE871. I do a reboot then the attached devices show again for about a day.
Router RBE871 V10.5.20.4_1.3.5
Satellite1 RBE870 V10.5.20.4
Satellite2 RBE870 V10.5.20.4
Satellite3 RBE770 V10.5.20.3
Any suggestions on how to fix this or is this just a firmware bug?
Everything else works great - i get great internet all around/outside the house. Its just the attached device list issue-
Thanks!

Same thing seen in the Orbi app?
What is not available on the web page? Is the page blank or is there some error message?
What browser are you using? Same thing happens in MS Edge or Firefox browsers?
Happens with a different PC to compare?
I have my 870 series online as well. Haven't seen this to date.
The orbi app shows 13 devices instead of 37. it does show the 3 satelites.
When i click on the website "attached devices" it just goes to "Please wait a moment..." and nothing ever appears.
This happens on Chrome and Edge browser on this PC and another PC Chrome.
I did a factory reset as well and the problem still happened.
Do you think its a hardware issue maybe? is there something in the logs that could help? Maybe one of my wifi devices is causing this problem?
Thanks so much for your help and trouble shooting!- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
I don't believe this is a HW issue. Rather some odd behavior in FW. This is the only system model I saw this with. Though could be on the 770 series as well, nobody else has mentioned seeing this issue, other than us 3. My system has been online for just about 20 days now.
This one maybe hard to troubleshoot.
How was your system FW updated on the RBS and RBR? Automatically or manually by using a PC and web browser?

So below is what i see when i first reset the route- it shows the correct number of devices.
Then about 6 hours later it shows this below.
And then when i click on "attached devices" it gives me the "Please wait a moment"
I am using the latest version of Chrome browser.
Thanks!

Does same thing happen on MS Edge for Firefox?
On same version of FW and Number of SATs and devices is howing correctly for me using MS Edge just now.
I had seen this on prior version of FW. Since updating to v.4 and factory reset after update and setup from scratch, I haven't seen this issue again.

I see that with my own 870 - though with my system it takes longer for the problem to surface. Like you the only way I've found to fix it is to reboot. Which is quite annoying.
I did try reporting the issue, but so far just crickets...
I'm not seeing this at the moment, and I guess it's possible that the 10.5.20.4 has changed the behavior.
I have downloaded the basic debug log and the log file data but cant attached or share it for some reason. Is there something in the files that i should search for or find?

NG is looking into this. I think it got swept behind other items. I'll keep checkin on this.
If either of you happen to see this again, please capture debug logs from the RBR and PM me the cloud link so I can get it to NG. Any additional logging could be helpful.
Thanks- its a continous problem for me- let me know if they need more data or info. They can also reach out to me if they need more info-
Thanks-

OK.
FWIW, I haven't seen it for a while with 10.5.20.4_1.3.5 firmware.

Ok, checked my RBR 870 and it's happening there as well.
Will be sure NG reviews this.
Hi- I tried again to see if this problem was fixed yesterday with a firmware update and/or reset and no luck. Did you hear back yet from Orbi?
Thanks!

What FW update version was applied?
Not yet.

Perhaps this is not pertinent, but how has it been verified that the 770 satellite works correctly with the 871 router? especially in light of this:
Netgear appears to be on record as stating that the RBE770 satellite is not compatible with the RBE871 router.
Nope- still not working. This was not working prior to adding in the satellites. I did just reboot my router and its working for now but that normally just lasts a few hours-

Have you submitted a support ticket with NG regarding this?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
What browser are you using?

I saw this for several months with my own 870 system, but haven't seen it recently. The router's been up for about 15 days...
Do you have access control turned on? I saw lots of devices missing from the attached device list when I had it turned on (even with "allow all new devices to connect"). The devices seemed connected anyway, but were missing from the list.
So if you use that, try turning it off as a test, and see if the problem resolves.
So its been 4 days and seems like the problem has resolved itself somehow. Not sure exactly how, but the attached device list shows on the web page and on the app, and they match and are correct.
