Orbi Router (RBE771) Persistent Amber Power Indicator Light

Hi All,

Issue: Need assistance with a possible failed update on my Orbi Router (RBE771). I have tried holding the reset button and nothing happens.

Symptoms: No front status light glow and the back power indicator light stays a persistent amber color right at the power on sequence.

Question: Is there a way to get into recovery mode to upload firmware? Otherwise, I have a COSTLY $700+ PAPERWEIGHT of a mesh system..

    Try a 30-30-30 Reset.

      Hi FURRYe38,

       

      Sorry, I haven’t had the time to test after having my initial frustrations. Been juggling a few things including a newborn. But I really do appreciate the suggestions.

       

      Regarding your NMRP suggestion, I did try Netgear’s TFTP but it didn’t find the router. Amber light just continues holding solid. Does NMRP have a higher chance of seeing the router when TFTP does not? I’ll try to test by tomorrow night and hopefully report back.

       

      I haven’t been able to get a hold of NG Support. The item is less than three months old but was linked to a friends account before I took ownership (he got frustrated). Before he realized it, unlinking the set expired his device support for this product. What is the best way to contact technical support directly? (lvl 2+ support) Thank in advance!

        Ya Lets get this to support and ask about RMA options. Ask about cross shipping RMA.

      Just wanted to give you a heads up.

       

      • 30-30-30 reset didn’t go anywhere after 3 separate attempts
      • NMRPflash did not work and kept reporting that “no internet connection detected”

       

      Since the power LED is stuck amber, my suspicion is that the firmware is stuck and not booting to any point of being visible.

        Make contact with NH support and check on RMA options. Ask about cross shipping RMA.
