Manually update FW on the router if this isn't seen on the routers web page:

NOTE: Use a wired PC and web browser to update router FW. If continued problems are seen after a FW update, it's recommended to try a factory reset and setup from scratch with out loading any saved configurations from backup files.

  • Highly anticipated fix, did the manual update this morning ( no factory reset yet to see what happens) so far everything seems to be working as expected

Just curious, do you see a Thermal Fan option on the routers debug page by chance?

  • just checked, I do not see the thermal fan option in the debug page. the fan turn on the whole time the router was doing the firmware update but haven't turn on again so far, the router runs pretty warm for my liking.

  • Since I updated the RAX200 to 10.0.10.14 the router keeps hanging Evey few days and becomes not responsive. That means not responding to nighthawk app and/or to its IP address.
Only workaround if power off/on the router using the physical back button.
I did factory reset also for nothing...

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Does the router feel extra warm or hot on top when this happens?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

      Turn off and unplug modem.

      Turn off router and computers.

Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on computers and rest of network.

        Hello,

        1) What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

        AX7501-B0 Firmware Version: V5.15(ABWW.2)C0

        2) Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

I have a very good quality CAT6 cable (Its shielded, etc...)

        3) Does the router feel extra warm or hot on top when this happens?

Hm... I am not sure. I think its often warm on the top. I can't say if it was "that warm". I know the airflow intake is from below, its not blocked either.

        4) Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?

Hm, I certainly rebooted both devices, not in the exact order you described,

I will try to follow the following instructions.

PS: I forget if I said that but before update to 10.0.10.140 I did not have that particular issue.

PS2: I'm in the hospital, more often than home. My wife reported me a few additional blocking, I also witnessed a few on my last outings.

  • Since I have updated to this firmware, everytime I am logging to web interface, I have updating settings for a few minutes. In the mean time, the router is cutting all devices connections until the updating settings is finished.

Any workaround/tips to prevent the updating settings upon log in?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

  • Its been a little over 2 years since the last release of fw for the RAX200. That seems like an awfully long period without updates. Has the RAX200 gone end-of-service?

There is a minor problem in how the "Logs" are displayed and emailed but its hardly worth mentioning.

I've been in IT for longer than I care to admit. I've had routers from many different vendors. With all of the security issues that are identified over time, I just find it peculiar that in the last 2 years, not a single one has been found with the RAX200. Ideally, thats the best outcome one would hope for but it seems rather unlikely. Just my opinion.
