RAX45 log entry: [Internet disconnected]
Anyone know how to approach this issue?
Perhaps router needs to be replaced?
Internet disconnect happened last week and then again today.
Router is running latest Firmware: V1.0.17.142_2.0.100.
ISP (ATT - Fiber) reports no outages and status LEDs on ATT equipment look good (all green).
To fix internet disconnect issue, I simply turn off RAX45 router and then turn it back on again. But I'd like to stop this from happening altogether.
Oh yea, and when this problem happens, ATT equipment does not show RAX45 connected as it should. But after turning RAX45 off and then back on, ATT shows RAX45 connect and RAX45 shows a good internet connection.
Thanks for any help/pointers in getting this issue resolved.

Yes, the ATT ONT is in IP Pass-Through mode (option 2 above). And it's actually been working pretty well for several years now. It's just every once in awhile the RAX45 loses internet connectivity while the ATT ONT maintains internet connectivity. And the RAX45 is no longer listed in the ATT ONT's connected devices page. Power-cycling the RAX45 fixes the "no internet" problem and all is well until the next time. But recently (past couple of weeks) the issue happened twice (once last week and again then today). And I'm checking with the Netgear community to see if there's something I can do to prevent this issue from ever happening (unless the ATT ONT running on ATT Fiber really looses internet connectivity, which almost never happens). I'll read the suggested articles and contact ATT as suggested above. Thanks for your help.

Try removing the pass thru freature on the ATT gateway and configure the RAX for AP mode:
And see if this happens with the RAX in AP mode.

When internet disconnect happens:
- RAX45 WAN/Internet LED is white (normal color, like it's connected to internet, but it's not)
- The ATT ONT model is: ARRIS BGW210-700
- Ethernet cable is in GOOD shape and connected properly.
- IPv6 is ENABLED on the ATT ONT. IPv6 is DISABLED on the RAX45.
- OpenDNS is being used (on the RAX45): 208.67.222.222 (primary) & 208.67.220.220 (secondary).
- Since last firmware update, factory reset / setup from scratch has NOT been performed.
Also, not sure if this matters but: the ATT ONT configures DHCP leases for 1 day & 0 hours/minutes/seconds. But on the RAX45 the "Connection Status" page shows a Lease Obtained as: 0 days, 0 hours, 10 Minutes.

The model ONT you have already has a built in router. And if DHCP leases are 1 day on ONT router, then this would be main issue for the RAX loosing internet access. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routershttps://kb.netgear.com/24086/How-do-I-set-up-a-default-DMZ-server-on-my-Nighthawk-router
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Try option #2 first...Ask ATT ISP about configuring the ONT for longer DCHP Lease times as well. If thats possible.
Also ask the ISP if the Arris gateway is a seperate router unit from the actual Fiber ONT unit. Maybe possible to avoid using the Arris unit and install the RAX as the main host router.

Does the RAX WAN/Internet LED turn AMBER or RED when this happens?
What is the model # of this ATT ONT that the RAX is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 UTP is recommended.
Is IPv6 enabled on the router?Using ISP detected DNS or custom DNS like Cloudfare or Quad9?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
