C6300 and Windows 10 disconnects frequently

Never had a problem with my Windows 7 installation.  Since upgrading to Windows 10, the internet disconnects several times a day.  Usually fixes itself when I run diagnostics, but must reboot from a cold shutdown sometimes.  usually says "local area connection adapter has disconnected"  and sometimes "disconnected from gateway, not available".  Sometimes it says "local area connection adapter disabled".  I can always fix it somehow, but very annoying to happen several times a day.

  • The 2nd link down seems to have fixed the problem.  It is to disable "receive side scaling" on the modem.  For more details, see the 2nd link.

    Thanks for all the help.

Is this a wired connection to the router? Those messages appear to be related to the device fitted to the computer, have you looked to see if there are diver updates available for the relevant device? Do you know what the model of the device is (listed in Device Manager)?

Yes, it is hard wired (ethernet) and the WiFi continues to work fine, but the computer internet connection drops.  It is a cable modemWifi and is a AC1750 model C6300.  According to the website, there are no driver updates available.  I am using it on Cox cable.  It is a Dell PC and had Windows 7 on it and upgraded to Windows 10 and now the problems started.

Your last post is not clear, are you referring to the drivers for the networking device (Ethernet) fitted to the computer? It is that device that I believe might need updated drivers.
