c7100v firmware v 2.01.42 internet and phone issue .

I have a C7100V firmware V2.01.42 cable modem router with phone connected to comcast. Every couple days or so the Wi Fi slows way down and the phone starts chopping/cutting in and out the incoming voice it does not appear to affect the out going voice. To correct this I have to login to modem goto home advanced select Internet Port-Connection Status and then in that window renew conection. After that everything is ok for a day or two. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

  • Its worth a shot. It shouldn't necessarily cause the issue your having but having the network setup right is only going to be beneficial for troubleshooting.

    if you log into the C7100v and click on its modem connections page, take as screen snip of that page. also get your logs page. this helps check the connection back to the isp.

    also if you have any splitters, attenuators, amplifiers in the coax line, remove them.

        Yes do have channels set to manual thanks. Will try to load pics.

    What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
    Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

     

    Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. 
    Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box. 
    Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
