CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI

Hi There,

Recently my CG3000Dv2 router firmware upgraded. Comcast is my ISP. Now I have intermittent issues. While chekcing the modem time shows 1 hour lag behind the network time. The last firmware worked perfectly for 2 years & that was haing NTP server options. Now this firmware doesnot have that. Please suggest how to correct the time and fix the intermittent issue.

Event logs show error like below.

  • Those log messages have nothing to do with NTP.  Instead, they are related to the Internet connection coming through your coax cable.  You may want to contact Comcast and ask them to check the line.

It is certainly related to NTP. And why the modem/router cant sync up with the Network time? Its always 1 hour behind the correct time.

      • Those log messages are most certainly not related to NTP.  They concern DOCSIS link management.  See Section 7 (page 159) of the DOCSIS specification (link) which talks about timing and synchronization of the MAC protocol for a cable network.

As to why the modem/router doesn't have the correct time, did you set the time zone?

  • Factory reset only erases settings. It does not restore the original firmware. Usually, you go to support.netgear.com, enter your model number and download firmware. Unfortunately, I don't see any firmware downloads for your model. Often, firmware for cable modem/routers is not upgradable by users.

        Hello gdash

Are you able to provide some screenshots of your event log page and the cable connection page so I can send this over to our engineers to investigate the issues. and when you talk about intermitten tissues are you talking with the Wifi or with the internet or with both?
