Limited or no connectivity

I recently installed a Netgear C3700 cable modem/router. I have a laptop running WIndows XP that I can't seem to get connected to the internet. I was able to connect with no problem on my older Netgear wireless router. I am not sure if my security settings need changed or what. Any advice?

Thanks, Mike

    Hello Golfman1007

Did you name the SSID the same name as your old router if so you will need to go into your wireless settings on your PC and tell the PC to forget all networks with that name then try to connect again.

The SSID is the name of the new router. I have other devices that connect without a problem. It is only my laptop that is running Windos XP.

  • are you unable to connect to any website? can you login to your router?

        Hello Golfman1007

Are you maybe getting a ip address conflict you usually see a yellow triangle come up on top of your wireless connection icon.
