Need help selecting Xfinity cable modem
I need help selecting an Xfinity compaible cable modem for a small home office that supports 4-5 people.
They have 300mbps. They will add a mesh WiFi for device connectivity. There are about 5 laptops and 5 mobile phones. VOIP (not via Xfinity) and have regular office work plus large CAD/CAM files.
The goal is to not break the bank here.
I don't know the differences in some of the technology options
DOCSIS Channels
DOCSIS Version
Here is the Xfinity compatibility guide: https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/?INTCMP=ILC:XA:GEN:GEN5bfebd84b5e3a
Thank you.

I'd recommend any of the docsis 3.1 devices.
Like the CM1000, CM1100, CM1200, or CM2000
They're all gigabit capable and docsis 3.1.
We're seeing more ISP's requiring docsis 3.1 modems for lower speed tiers so the little extra is worth is for making sure you're hitting minumum requirements for your speed levels.
Plus I've used them all but the CM1200 on xfinity and they've worked great.

Do you forsee any compatibility issues with any of the usual mesh vendors - Linksys, TP-Link, Asus or Google?
If I add voice into the equation, do you have any other suggestions?
Have you used any non-netgear that you'd recommend? Motorola or Arris?
Thanks.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Seen no compatibily with NG, D-Link, ASUS or NetDuma routers. There isn't any compatibility issues with WiFi routers, they either work or they don't. If they don't it's usually a cable or HW issue at either the modem or wifi router. Otherwise, most wifi routers work fine.
