Trying to change DNS settings, will not apply or save them
Hello all,
I'm trying to change DNS settings (generally for spoof location streaming) in the C6300, and I have done this on other systems with different modems. When I try to change DNS for a particular device (let's say fire tv in this case) and it doesn't work, a lot of the DNS services say that ipv6 needs to be disabled for it to take place (change the DNS for the router/modem not just the end device, fire tv box). When I go into routerlogin or my IP address via browser, I can never get the DNS settings to change to the numbers I desire. I click apply and the screen always changes to "invalid IP address", new DNS settings never take place. What's more, my device has a DNS that ends in ::feed, which seemingly never changes. I've included screenshots of the internet setup screen where one theoretically can change the DNS, I try to change the numbers that you see, but the error screen pops up. Is it an IP issue with my ISP (Comcast)? Thanks in advance.

can you please try entering 3rd server or if you dont have 3rd one, just copy 2nd one exactly in 3rd one.

Hello bastaoastas
Do you have the parental controls enabled on the router if so try to disable them and use the workaround above as the open DNS should still filter websites.DarrenM

I have the exact same issue. Same router/modem (c6300) using xfinity (comcast). I am trying to input cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I'm also getting the invalid IP address error. I've tried changing it to other dns servers with the same result. The default DNS settings for my router are the opendns home 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

Yes, I don't get why this won't work. I'm trying to spoof, not gonna lie, stuff like yonder or unlocator
basta, or darrenM, did you find a way to work this?
On my old router this was never a problem.

I thought this worked, but it actually did not.
There are 3 different DNS boxes. Input your primary and secondary dns IPs and then put anything into that 3rd Tertiary DNS box. The settings should save and reboot the router when you hit apply.
After the reboot, the same opendns home IPs were still there. But at least this time I did not get the invalid IP error.
