Netgear A6210 connected to Fujitsu Lifebook USB3.0 port shows Device can perform faster when .....
Hi there,
I am seeking advice from knowledgeable persons in the communities to give a solution to my issue:
I plug the Netgear A6210 to a USB 3.0 port of my Fujitsu Lifebook. Surprisingly, it shows on the Bluetooth and Other Devices Setting of Windows 10 "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0." I have tried fixing it to changing the HCI controller in the Bios. The options instead of Enable and Disable are Standard and Compatible. The driver version of the adapter I believe is the latest one ....039. The issue still persists. I plug another WiFi USB 3.0 adapter, it shows Device connected to USB 3.0.
I am losing my ideas. The solution I can think of now is upgrading the Fujitsu USB 3.0 xtensible driver. I could not find a compatible driver in Fujitsu website. What they have is just the driver for Windows 7. The other possibilities I can think of is rolling back Netgear adapter to any version before ...039 applicable to Windows10.
I appreciate advice on how to this issue?
Thank you,
Sharak
Thanks you guys for contributing to my posts! I have managed to solve Device can perform faster when connected to USB3.0. It is simple: change the A6210 's properties->advanced->USB Max from Auto to 3.0.

This smells like a Windows issue to me. Not much that Netgear can do about that.
If you have installed the "Netgear genie" for your adapter you could try removing it.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Adapters - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your issue.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Thanks for your reply to my post. I uninstalled Netgear Genie. But Device can perform faster.... remains.

What wireless card is in the Fajitsu?
The A6210 is one of the greatest USB devices out there and your internal card might be better (or upgradeable)

Is?
The A6210 is now a decade old. Several wifi generations behind the times.

michaelkenward didn't mean to say greatest. Shooties. Typing to fast and distracted with prepping breakfast for turd monkeys.
The A6210 is pretty basic and used kind of a crappy mediatek chipset

Thanks for your reply. The internal WiFi card in the Fujitsu is Intel(R) Dual Band AC-8210. As I already have it in my device, I bought and installed A6210 to be used with my other laptops with 2.4 Ghz internal WiFi cards, also Fujisu because I thought with the A6210 antenna, it would boost the internet speed at 5.0Ghz in my bed room located two floors from where I placed the internet router. I have just tested the speed from both WiFi adapters (Intel AC-8210 and A6210) at 5.0Ghz. The result: the speed from AC-2810 is a little faster than A6210. Device can perform faster... is still there.
Later, I will remove AC-8210 and see whether Device can perform faster...still remains.

intel didn't make a wireless card 8210. Maybe you mean the AC-8260?
If so, the intel card will be faster than the A6210. Distance, interference, and obstruction will all slow down wireless speeds. Especially 2 floors away, you're going to see a significant drop in speeds.
One nice thing is you can probably upgrade to an Intel AX-210 for pretty reasonable. Those cards can be picked up for around $25 and you could potentially upgrade the internal card if you're half handy. You might check the forums for the laptop to see if the BIOS has a lock for wireless cards but if it doesn't, might be a good option.
