WN2500RP drops router / forces router offline
I have recently purchased a WN2500RP. After some time I was able to get the extender to connect to my router, xfinity SMCD3GNV. I have internet access on multiple devices for about 5 mins, then I lose connection to the xfinity SMCD3GNV. Not only will the WN2500RP not connect to the xfinity SMCD3GNV, but the xfinity SMCD3GNV is no longer visible to any/all devices (iphone, android, a Samsung Smart TV, and 2 labtops).
I have confirmed most recent firmware.
Currently attempting to access _5GEXT with all devices, however, the xfinity SMCD3GNV only supports _2GEXT as I understand it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

- SirPyrosAspirantI am having the same issue with an xfinity router. Someone please help.
- bngilbertAspirantUpdate - I tried the _5GEXT, but same issue.
Don't want to give up on the extender, it works great until the xfinity router is forced offline, but might have to. - Wade_0AspirantThis sounds similar to the issue I'm having, but I'm connecting to a Netgear WNDR3700 router. I've got the WN2500RP connected to the WNDR3700 using FastLane on the 5ghz network, and after running successfully for a very short time, eventually nothing can connect to the router on 5ghz, including the WN2500RP. I've tried reconfiguring it on multiple different channels and different channel widths, and always the same result.
I'm basically done messing with this headache, and have a new more powerful router on order. - BthomsonAspirantI am having very similar issues. What might have solved the problem is by going and ensuring that the extender (wn2500rp) has the most recent update, and even if it does redownloading/installing the update.
It can be done by plugging connecting a laptop via ethernet to the extender and going to www.mywifiext.net/start.
Hope this helps. - mothballAspirantI am having the same problem - i purchased the WN2500 originally to deal with poor usb performance by Win 8 (constant usb failures that microsoft new about but was reluctant to fix). the wn2500rp worked like a charm until last week when it began losing/dropping the wireless connection to the router. i have a desktop and a blu ray hardwired to the wn2500rp and i am using it as a shared remote wireless adapter. i have tried reconfiguration and resetting and nothing i only get netgear_ext and it will not connect to the network.
From the status of the front panel led's i believe the radio portion of the unit has failed (no signal icons present). i am going to check my warranty time - flykrs1AspirantMy router does the same thing. Supposedly the ACS9?) sensitivity can be part of the problem.
I can reboot my extender and the network will connect again. Problem is I go through periods with no problems for weeks and then it will repeatedly disconnect for 1-2 hours. My laptop and my wife's desktop (on a dedicated usb wifi) never lose connection so its not the router.
