Router needs to restart every time to connect internet
Hello sir,
I have GTPL Broadband Connection. I need to restart it every time for connecting to internet.
As the GTPL technical said that Netgear router release IP as you close your router.
Once i restart router it will release IP. So in IP address it shows 0.0.0.0. So i need to restart router two to three time
Please suggest me any idea.
- I tried my best with netgear router. But it is not compatible with gtpl broadband isp. It doesn,'t work properly.
So let me buy another company's router suggested by gtpl broadband technical person.

Hi mrmodi
Welcome to the community!
What's happening with the router that you need to always restart it?
Is your connection stable when you connect your computer directly to the modem?
If yes, make sure that you select "Use Computer MAC Address" on the router settings.
- mrmodiAspirantI have already selected Use Computer MAC Address.

What's the firmware version installed on your router?
See if reflashing/upgrading firmware will help. By the way, if you decided to upgrade do not forget to factory reset the router.
- mrmodiAspirant1.0.0.32 firmware version
I did factory reset also but no solution.- ElaineMNETGEAR Employee Retired
Then the router can be considered faulty.
- mrmodiAspirantSorry for delay reply.
I disagree with your reply because it is working perfectly with other broadband service like tikona etc.
It has only issue with gtpl broadband.- netwrksMaster
If you feel it works properly with other ISP's assuming you have recently tried (as in days not months) your router on another ISP Service, then you should be calling your ISP to work, to resolve the issue.
- mrmodiAspirantI have borrow my friend's netgear router same as mine and try to test but the same issue happen with that router also. I discussed with gtpl technician about that but he told its netgear router fault. He suggested me to buy other company's router. So i assume that netgear router is not vompatible with gtpl isp service.

Is it possible to use another router aside from the ones you used for further isolation?
The one from your friend, connects but it is not stable, right?
Most sites would just recommend to just use the step that was given previously.
