Need restore SMB1 or SMB v1 support for ReadyShare Storage.
I use a small USB external HD in the ReadShare Storage as a music library for SONOS S1 controller.
This has worked fine for years but for months now it is not working anymore.
The SONOS support inform I need SMB v1 to use SONOS S1 controller and probably some router firmware upgrade should removed or disabled it.
I can not find in the Nighthawk R7000 configurations where to re-enable SMB v1 support or what should be the firmware I need to use.
Can someone help me?

I don't think it was FW, maybe was Windows update? I know MS disabled SMBv1 with in Windows. It can be re-enabled I think for Windows.

Allow me a picture to better explain my issue. With the old router firmware file share was using SMB v1 protocol and everything was OK ( Windows had SMB v1 enabled ).
With the new router firmware file share is now using SMB v2 protocol and Windows (even with SMB v1 disabled) can file share with the router, BUT ... the SONOS S1 application in Android and Windows is permanently dependent on SMB v1 protocol to file share. I do not know the last router firmware that supported SMB v1 or the first firmware that disabled SMB v1. There are so many old firmwares and instead of install one by one to discover I have an expectation someone here knows which one ended with the SMB v1 protocol.

I'm with FURRYe38. This is not a Netgear firmware thing. It is Windows. (Did you try that?) The topic comes up here every month or so.
Feel free to work your way through all the firmware versions for your R7000.
Visit the support pages:

That page will also have firmware for your device.

Almost correct. Microsoft introduced a SMB 1.0/CIFS Automatic Removal service which kicked in if there are no SMB 1.0/CIFS client connections active for a certain time. Check the Windows Features - Turn Windows features on off controls ... it's all there. Yes, it came in with some Windows Upgrade feature enhancements a loooong time ago.

Allow me to show what I have:
(1) The ReadySHARE USB Storage page.
(2) The Windows resources with SMB v1 disabled
(3) The working ReadySHARE USB Storage local network.
(4) SONOS S1 network share page
(5) SONOS S1 error
R7000 must be working currently with SMB v2 or v3 ( I do not know ). But not v1, for sure.
R7000 was working with v1 in the past ( do not recall when ) and all was OK.
SONOS S1 application depends of v1 and it worked for many years.
Currently it is not working anymore, because R7000 is working with SMB v2 or v3.
I need to move the firmware back to a version that was using v1 but I do now know what.
Does this make sense?

It is a "feature" in Windows.

Small external USB disk: Yes.
Readyshare: Nope.
The Netgear routers like the R7000 never had a simple user accessible smb mounter so you could re-share the Sonos S1 hosted storage.

Yet another embedded system which is limited to smb1 support - to make it even slower it's like most Android user space smb1 processing.
it was never configured in a way you like to remember it ....

Solution: Netgear REMOVED support to SMB v1 only in the last firmware: 11.136. All previous firmware supported SMB v1.
