I have the very same issue. 5Ghz goes away until reboot. Most I have made it without reboot is 15 days. When it is up, the range and speed is good. I had the RAX 200 with EX8000 extender. I have around 25 devices usually connected. 11 of those are 2.4.Small house - 1350 square feet. Like I said, signal is great when it is there.

Can you try the 5GHz set to channel 40 and mode "Up to 2.9 Gbps" to see if the connection becomes stable?

If you are located in US, another option is to set the channel to 153. Then you can keep the mode to "Up to 5.8Gbps". Thanks.

Found that channels149 and above set to 5.8 gbps are not visible. Drop to 2.9 and they are. Go Figure. I can keep 5.8 gbps on channels 100 and below. Opened case with support.

I did send debug logs in open case. In the mean time, I did get replacement unit and still the same issue. Is it really a big issue on 1 gig fiber ? Not if user sets 5GHz to 2.9 GBPS. It was driving me nuts for 5 GHz band using channel selection of auto and default mode of 5.8 GBPS. 5 GHz would disappear due to router switching to upper channel such as 157. Several devices could not see. I would reboot router and all was good while 5GHz on lower channels. NETGEAR customer service has been great through this whole experience. I did get a bit testy on the last troubleshooting call. Kudos for their patience. I still think this is a bug, and should be corrected. Until then: Turn 5GHz mode to “Up to 2.9 GBPS”. Support just called and gathered information and logs from new device. They are great !

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

How many devices are connected to the router?

Brand and model#s of devices you have connected?

Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:
