Rs300 internet not working on virgin hub 5 in modem mode

I've just got the rs300 and when I've connected the cable to my hub 5 that is in modem mode the rs300 will not connect the indicator light shows orange but when I move the cable to another port it works fine.

Just want to know if anybody else has this problem and does the rs300 randomly disconnect for anyone else

Also had the rax500 and that worked no problem connect to the 2.5g port in the virgin hub.

Would really like to know

  • What kind of CAT# LAN cable are you using between the RS and ISP modem? CAT6A STP is recommended. 

     


    Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed?
    Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
    Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    Turn on computers and rest of network.

      Ye I'm using a cat 7 cable and I've turned the virgin hub on and off and still not working, as I say when I move it to another port on the virgin hub it works fine. I'll give it another try in the order you've said and see what happens.

      Just had a look at the fourms and done all of that ,still getting this orange light, doesn't seem to like the 2.5g port on the virgin hub. I don't know if it's some sort of a unknown bug on the rs300 also been disconnected randomly off the WiFi 7 band. I'll go on the virgin forums to see if it's an issue with their hub.

      Agreed at least they let you put it into modem mode but their new hub5x doesn't have the feature yet.
