How to permanently disable ReadyCLOUD?
I just upgraded an RN516 from 6.1.8 to 6.2.2 and the IT department locked the unit off the network. When I attempt to download the RAIDar version 6.0 https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/install/RAIDar.exe, I get an IT warning that the site is blocked since it is a online storage site. My guess is that the unit is trying to access ReadyCLOUD.
I have read that the following command will disable the ReadyCLOUD service:
Will this command permanently disable the ReadyCLOUD service so it will never run when the unit is rebooted?
Are there any additional services that need to be disabled to keep the unit from trying to access any Cloud Services?
Regards

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserRAIDar runs on a PC and downloads directly to the PC, so I am confused on how the NAS is on the download connection path.
You might check with your IT folks directly. - Klayson1AspirantThe RAIDar download was attempted on my desktop PC. However, both my PC and the RN516 go through the same proxy where IT manages what sites we can access. Since IT is not letting my PC access the readycloud.netgear.com site, I suspect that whatever Cloud service the RN516 is attempting to access is also being denied. In the case of the RN516, IT is disabling its network access after that. The RN516 can obtain an initial IP address and then it gets locked out of the network. So, I need to disable all services that are attempting to go to a "Cloud" site.
- NhellieVirtuosoon Cloud>ReadyNAS Remote and ReadyCloud make sure both are switched off. Remote and Cloud uses port 6300, so might as well block any outbound connection using port 6300.

Well, IT might also be blocking it because it is listed in blocking list that they subscribe too, or because "CLOUD" is in the URL. So I would suggest that you check with them on why they are blocking it, and not just guess.Klayson wrote: The RAIDar download was attempted on my desktop PC. Keeping Remote and ReadyCloud turned off will prevent any usage of cloud services, but the NAS might still possibly try to reach the readycloud server (and other servers - software upgrades, time sync, antivirus updates, etc).
