Found the answer here (https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyCLOUD/ReadyCloud-App-Android-Unable-to-Connect-to-ReadyNas/td-p/1135167) thanks a forum recommendation once I made my first post (funny that a forum search did not find that post before).  Here's what I did:

    1. Clicked the "Leave" button from the Cloud tab in the ReadyNAS admin page
      1. This deleated my ReadyCloud account
      2. Also deleted my folders (empty anyways)
    2. Uninstalled the ReadyCloud-App from my phone
    3. Re-eabled ReadyCloud with MyNetgear account
      1. This created a cloud user with my email as the username.
      2. Previously it had a username that was not my email (this was likely the problem for the app)
    4. Re-installed the Android App
      1. Logged in with MyNetgear account
      2. Device and folders now displayed! :-)

Now to figure out how to share my local (default user) folders with this ReadyCloud account. ;-)
