I have seen that the latest version of the OS has the right temperatures and fan controls for "some legacy units". Is there a list? I am specifically interested in the Ultra4 and older Pro Business Edition (not newer Pro 6, if it matters).
It is just for the 2-bay and 4-bay desktop units, so the Ultra/Ultra Plus/Pro 2/4 would be the units on the list.

Is root SSH enabled by default in OS6, or is there something I need to do to add that?

I am far from a Linux guru. I've used real Unix and even Multics, but the Readynases are the only Linux boxes I've owned. With copious Googling, I've figured some things out, but it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of useful utilities and the appropriate app-get and other commands to install them since the add-on concept is dead and the marketplace is off limits to us. Starting with the available add-ons for the X86 models would be great.
There is a list of available apps in the Dashboard. You can get some add-ons at rnxtras.com and there are add-ons in super-poussin's Dropbox: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=70914
A comprehensive list of useful utilities would be very long.
