Transmission 3.00.6: how to change download complete folder?
Hi,
In order to view and edit the file settings.json, i reset the user permission of the folder "Transmission".
I edited the file settings.json "download-dir" to change the folder when file download finished as follow:
from:
"download-dir": "/driveA/Transmission/Downloads",
to:
"download-dir": "/driveB/finish/xxx",
However, some time later I check the file settings.json, the "download-dir" setting and file permission reverted to default, and I notice that completed files never copied to the new folder I specified previously.
Any idea how to get this work?
I would like to change default folder of completed torrent files into another location.
I have two drive, both configured jbod, as separate drive in NAS, I would like the complete files copied to another drive when finished download and start seeding.

- Was the torrent already running when you tried to change the path in settings.json? Also, I think its best to stop Transmission whilst editing the settings file.
If you use a gui like Transmission Remote Gui, you can change both the download path easily*. Also once a Torrent has started, you can change the path per torrent.
